IT'S
PAYDAY!
(Woooooooooooooooooo!!)
AKA the time where i get a chunk of money in one go and totally forget that it has to last me the whole month. I was in desperate need of some new summer clothes as it has been boiling recently and I've had nothing but jeans and hoodies in my wardrobe, although as i am currently writing this it is absolutely chucking it down with rain outside. Don't you just love British summertime?! So unpredictable. Anyway if it actually decides to get out nice in the next couple of months, at least I have a few bits which I bought when I recently went shopping.
I've been stuck in a rut with what I've been wearing for literally the past year. Only ever wearing black Topshop Joni jeans with leather jackets and crop tops and I'm sick of it! So this shopping trip was to try and break the habit and to try and introduce a little colour into my summer wardrobe. I have also been finding Topshop Joni jeans ridiculously priced for what they are recently as they've been falling apart after a couple of months, and at almost £40 a pair I find that terrible. Infact I think Topshop as a whole recently is really dissapointing. I feel like they're putting there prices up and reducing the quality of there clothing to a Primark standard. Therefore I haven't actually bought anything from Topshop for my summer wardrobe. Does anyone else agree with me on this?! Sort it out Topshop! So anyway here is what I bought!
URBAN OUTFITTERS:
Adidas crop top: £22
I never usually buy anything from urban outfitters as it is ridiculously priced however I couldn't help myself when I saw this Adidas top through the window. I just had to buy it. Literally couldn't help myself haha. I absolutley love it though and it's a crop top so I'm certain it will get a lot of wear through summer and i love the pattern on it!
PRIMARK:
Next I went into Primark. I have learnt the hard way that you must always go to Primark first, as when you spend £40 on a dress in Topshop only to find a very similair one in Primark for a fraction of the price is frustrating. Here is what i ended up buying:
- Playsuits, both £7 I think. I've never owned any play suits before but I want to try and be a bit more girly and I found that these both looked really nice on!
- Both tops: £5
Top. £4, Primark. This is nothing interesting however the material is very thin and these tops go with everything!
Material shorts are must have for summer! I picked up the top pair for £5 and the bottom pair for just £4! The bottom pair is also made of a funny material and feels like you could swim in them which I quite like.
I also picked up this denim pair of shorts (saw a similar alternative in Topshop for £36) I managed to grab these for just £13! Bargain!
Biker style boots which I picked up in the sale for just £10! Not really sure what I'm going to wear these with as the weathers getting warmer however I liked the style and I think they'd look good worn with one of my playsuits and a leather jacket.
Bikini. £4
H&M
I've been loving H&M for a while now and I ended up not leaving dissapointed! I managed to pick up a few really decent things in the sale, and it's deffinatley worth routing around for a while to look for items in the sale.
Chunky knit oversized jumper: £10 (reduced from £30)
Going back to what I said earlier about Topshop Joni jeans. I literally haven't bought anything else other than them in about 2 years! So buying these two pairs from H&M was actually a big deal for me haha. I bought the black 'mom' jeans for just £10 reduced from £35 and I'm not entirely sure if I like them or not yet but I'm going to try them as they suit so many people but I'm not sure if I will be able to pull them off. I also bought the pair on the right for £15 reduced from £40 which is amazing and they also fit really nicely. The material is of a really great quality and I'm 100% sure that these are going to last 10000 times better than Topshops Joni jeans. I'm officially converted to H&M!
ARK
Finally I went into Ark. I also really love Ark as the prices are reasonable and I always seem to want to buy everything in sight. I ended up only buying this shirt however I like it as it's oversized and you can wear them with anything. I usually tend to pair it with some skinny jeans and put a white crop top under.
- Shirt. £12 in the sale reduced from £18
That's everything! I didn't want to go too mad as I usually buy everything and then never ever wear it. Just because it's £3 from Primark it dosent mean you have to buy it. I'm the worst for throwing things in my basket just because it's cheap and never wearing it. Im sure I'm not the only one who does that haha. I would also recommend always trying things on, as there were loads more things I picked up but looked terrible on!

I'm such a sucker for shorts! Even though weather is crap here! I spotted that adidas top in Urban Outfitters too and was tempted, it's lovely. :) Nice haul.
ReplyDeleteI really love the UO top and the shirt from Ark. And yes I totally agree with you on Topshops bad quality, ive mentioned it on my blog so many times too! Doesn't stop me buying clothes from there though!
